Good Habits

Good Habits

I am a firm believer in good habits. And that good habits can be chosen and cultivated, and hence be the back bone of a strong and diciplined performance. Giving space, confidence and surplus to focus on the right things, supporting you in reaching your objectives and enforcing your talents and effort.

I also believe in rythm, and in the strength which lies in the change of the seasons. And that the winter should be used to review the past seasons and to sharpen the saw. Both on a personal and proffessional level. To review the core good habits, their relevance, their effect and their implementation in the day-to-day life. To mitigate bad habits, refine your skills and acquire new.

As the back bone of my own modus operandi, I have chosen to continously cultivate core habits true to my nature, but also to introduce and cultivate habits to mitigate counter productive patterns of reaction. All with a view to be steadily improving.

Be Sharp

Always well prepared, armed and dressed for the occation. Be present, focused and relevant. Never compromise on quality and substance.  Evaluate and improve. Deliver. Value time and ask for respect for yours. Know your objectives and lines.

Be Clear

Talk straigth and ensure to be understood. Insists to understand and clearly define your objectives. Keep things super simple.

Be Cool

Always polite and calm. Never provoked or angry. Always pragmatic and focus on finding the best solution. Be patient, make room and allow for venting.  Never exploit a situation unfairly - never allow yourself to be exploited.

Be Smart

Always consider options and make no rush or forced decisions. Take your own time, and insists to get all available facts on the table. However, priorise and respect urgency.

Be Brave

Face the unpleasant issues and situations. Be brave, but respect your gut feeling. Don't bend in the wind and don't be a whinger. Take your stands.

Be Honest

Always defend your integrity. Be careful with facts and precise in categorisation of statements. Give honest feed back and trustworthy timing. Stand by your word. Say No. Evaluate and sharpen the saw.

Be Open

Be reachable. Listen and make sure you understand. Be open for critisme and accept better ideas and solutions. Involve team, stakeholders and network in finding the solutions.

For myself I am an optimist — it does not seem to be much use being anything else.

Nourish your hopes, but do not overlook realities.
